A new pontoon has been built at Queens Quay, immediately in front of the Clydebank College's riverside entrance. This will ensure river access at Clydebank for the future and put the town in a strong position to offer a docking point for river taxis and tourist boats and some overnight mooring facilIties for small private craft. A commercial river pleasure craft has called at the pontoon in recent years, allowing passengers to visit the Titan Crane attraction.
We are also working the with boat owners and the Clyde Corridor partnership to provide access via the pontoon for the "Classroom on the Clyde". This is a project, funded by the Clyde Corridor Partnership which enables schools to bring children on the HM Cruiser from the centre of Glasgow to Clydebank. The boat has been equipped with teaching aids so that the young people are learning about the river's great shipbuilding past as part of their journey.
