Clydebank East Workshops
Clydebank re-built has acquired a 3.5 acre site from West Dunbartonshire Council at the eastern end of John Knox Street to facilitate development of more industrial business units. Site preparation began in October 2010 and will be complete in February 2011. This will result in the provision of 5 serviced development plots capable of accommodating small factories, with a total floor area of around 20,000 sq ft. There will be scope to amalgamate some plots to construct bigger factories. The plots will be available for purchase.
Clydebank re-built is presently assembling a funding package to build a terrace of small workshops on the site's sixth development plot. The project has planning consent for 7 units ranging in size from 500 - 1,200 sq ft, with a total floorspace of 9,000 sq ft. The units will have specialist internal finish that will allow use for basic food manufacturing. The development plots will also be promoted as being attractive location for food processing businesses. It is envisaged that the workshop build will begin in summer 2012 and units will be available for let in early 2013.
