From the outset, there was a commitment from all partners that
the residents and business owners in Clydebank, would be involved
in shaping the town's regeneration.
The consultation programme started with a series of community
workshops held in April 2003 in Clydebank Town Hall.
Over the last 6 years there have been 15 community wide
consultation events - called Design Forums - where local people
have come together to plan and share their ideas for Clydebank's
future. On average 120 people have attended each event.
Reports of the discussions and conslusions at these
events are published and can be downloaded from the web
site. Additionally there are regular meetings with
representatives of the construction, business, retail and leisure
businesses in the area, to keep them up to date with developments
and to encourage investment in Clydebank.
The initial community consultation programme
was funded by Scottish Enterprise, West Dunbartonshire
Council, the West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership and
Europe through URBAN II.
